Summers has a talent for relating horrifying events and their aftermath succinctly and with precision. Her writing style is flawless and her plots are never as straightforward as they seem. Despite the fact that she writes stories that are hard to wrap the head around, I am always left with a sense of hope that sentimental books fail to deliver.
